Does Mice Repellent Actually Work on Scottsdale Mice?

Most of us have tried to resolve the Scottsdale mice infestation on our own. The manufacturers of the repellents claim that their product will have the power to get rid of the mice conveniently. However, your meager attempt to resolve your mice problem using repellent will not be effective against them. There are various claims and myths that surround these products. Let us try to bust those myths to help you determine the best solution.

Natural Mice Repellents: Will They Work?

When you are looking for the natural remedy for your Arizona mice infestation, you will immediately think about peppermint, predator spray and ultrasonic devices. Unfortunately, they will not deliver your expected result. You may notice that the sighting of the mice will be minimally reduced but this will not eliminate the presence of the infestation. The mice are known for being crafty and clever creatures. They will rather stay inside your house that provides comfort, warmth, and security than to go outside and expose themselves to the threat of harsh weather and attack of predators.

Why Peppermint Oil Will Not Work

You might appreciate the amazing scent of the peppermint oil. You may think that this would be the ideal mouse repellent; unfortunately, there are no studies that will support this theory. Perhaps one of the reasons why peppermint oil is considered as mice repellent is due to its high level of concentration. The scent of the peppermint can be overwhelming and the vermin has a delicate olfactory nerve.

The Arizona mice are living in diverse areas. They can survive in the sewers that have a strong foul stench. If they can bear the scent of the sewer, then they can definitely deal with the smell of the peppermint oil. Another reason why peppermint oil will not be able to repel the mice is due to air flow. Most fumes and aroma are light and will rise up in the air. Due to the size of the mouse and their tendency to stay on lower ground, they will not be able to smell the scent of the peppermint oil.

Ultrasonic Devices

A device that will help you get rid of the Arizona mice simply by plugging it in your outlet will seem to be the perfect solution. Nonetheless, there are no existing studies that will prove that they will have the power to eliminate the infestation of mouse. One issue about the ultrasonic device is the sound wave that it releases. The high pitch sound will not be able to penetrate solid objects that affect its efficacy. Placement of the device can be a problem. In case there is no socket in the area of infestation, then you won' t be able to use it.

As we have mentioned above, Scottsdale mice have a high level of resiliency and adaptability. The better way to deal with the infestation is to prevent this from happening in the first place. Start by repairing your home and sealing all the access point of the mice. Remove the things that are attracting their attention and keep your area clean and free from food scraps.
